This session will review the process for calibrating various types of application equipment, common calculations and formulas used to determine the correct product mix rates based on application volume.

 This session will entail a slide show of difficult to diagnose plant problems, with a focus on sharpening observation skills and knowing what signs to look for that will lead to an accurate diagnosis and proper, effective treatment.

This presentation is designed to teach a systematic approach to diagnosing turfgrass problems including diseases, insect pests, nematodes, and various abiotic ailments including herbicide and environmental injury, and nutritional deficiencies. A power point slide show will include high quality images of various signs and symptoms that one needs to look for to rule out specific problems in the process of arriving at the correct diagnosis. The goal is to help landscape maintenance personnel identify plant problems more accurately to improve effectiveness and reduce environmental impact and exposure by avoiding wasted treatments due to incorrect diagnosis.
